Repair broken references
When a tracked item points at something that isn't tracked yet, bring the missing items in so nothing is left dangling.
Sometimes an item in your configuration points at another item that Mochi isn't tracking yet. Mochi gathers these under a Needs a look view so you can add the missing items. For the why behind this, see Broken references.
Bring in the missing items
- Open Configuration and choose the Needs a look view. It lists the items that point at configuration that isn't tracked yet.
- Open a flagged item to see what it's pointing at. Its Uses list marks the items Mochi isn't tracking yet. Those are the ones to bring in.
- Go to Environments and open the one to take them from. The same item can be set up differently in each environment, so this decides which version becomes part of your configuration. Pick the environment that has the version you want.
- Choose Review, then find and tick the missing items. The Not tracked view and the search both help here.
- Choose Review & create change set. Anything the items depend on comes along under Also included. Describe it and create it, like any other change set.
Same item, different setups
A field or content type can carry different defaults or options in each environment, so the environment you capture from is a real choice. Take a moment to confirm it has the version you mean to keep.
